DRM Golf: DRM GOLF IS BACK!

Dear DRM Golfers!

A bit overdue, but I would like to take the opportunity to welcome everyone (old and new) to the 2013 DRMGA Tour!

It has been a while, DRM Golf has been rather dormant recently and a lot of the DRM crocs have been asleep or biting in other golf circles, but I’m glad to tell you that the DRM Golf Tour is back!

First and foremost, I would like to thank the DRM Committee for putting their support behind me and entrusting me to lead the 2013 DRM Tour. The likes of former captains namely, Fadle ‘The Freak’ Salim, Renny ‘Serial’ Muslim, Asmadi ‘Mr. Medz Whyte’, as well as perennial Battle of the Bridges (BOTB) contenders Rafali ‘The Real Deal’ Rasit and notable Brunei golfing great Lai ‘The Prodigy’ Suan Loong, have provided me with support and guidance at every turn, ensuring that the DRM Tour will run as smooth as possible and that we will look back at the Tour at the end of the year with great success! That being said, we also welcome volunteers to help host or organize any of the tournaments in the calendar – with the incentive of DRM Prize Money to be awarded to the volunteers – significance of prize money to be explained below, so keep reading!

The rest of the 2013 DRMGA Tour Committee look forward to welcoming more: participation in monthly medals and of course the MAJORS, chatting away and commenting on posts in the blog, and the occasional but always “professional” trash talk to get the competitive juices flowing.

The DRM Tour has always been the main motivator for most of us to put in those grueling practice sessions at the driving range and on the putting greens. And for the more fashionable and golf tech-savvy of us, a reason to pay a visit to Palani/Joseph, and other local and regional proshops to keep up to date with the latest golf fashion and equipment.

The tournaments on offer and the dates as well as the venues still may vary, depending on participation. But that’s right, your eyes did not fool you, the BOTB is back! With the Top 16 players from the DRMGA Tour Order of Merit (based on Nett score ranking) eligible to compete in the season-ending, curtain-closing, DRM Tour Champion-Crowning event!

In order to be eligible for the BOTB, players must:

· Play in at least 2 monthly medals;
· Play in at least 1 major

The order of Merit will be determined after an accumulation of virtual DRM prize money collected by players throughout the season. The prize money breakdown is as follows:
